Ostatus, the cuisine that keeps the village alive

The Gipuzkoa network of 'ostatus' champions simple cuisine that is rooted in the local area and village life. Here, gastronomy and hospitality are part of the same tradition.
The 'ostatus' are much more than just places to eat. They have traditionally been spaces for socialising, hospitality and community life in Basque villages, closely linked to everyday cooking and locally sourced produce. This presentation invites you to discover the Gipuzkoa network ofostatuses and their gastronomic and cultural value: unpretentious cuisine rooted in the local area and in recipes passed down through the generations. It is also a reflection on how these establishments help to preserve a way of cooking and a way of interacting, sharing and keeping our villages alive. The presentation will include a tasting of some of the dishes served within the 'ostatus' network.
