San Sebastian Gastronomika tribute to Martín Berasategui
This year, Gastronomika will pay tribute to Martín Berasategui, one of the most prominent figures in Basque and Spanish gastronomy. This is a particularly significant year, as it marks the 50^(th) anniversary of the New Basque Cuisine.
Berasategui belongs to the generation of chefs who transformed Basque gastronomy forever by championing produce, technique and creativity, turning the Basque Country into one of the world's leading gastronomic destinations in the process.
During his four-decade career at the helm of his restaurant, he has developed a distinctive culinary style based on rigour, research, and respect for ingredients. He has also become a role model and mentor to a new generation of chefs.
