The Pau Albornà i Torras Gastronomic Journalism Award goes to American journalist Lisa Abend, a regular contributor to Time magazine, the New York Times and many other English-language newspapers and magazines.
Based first in Madrid and now in Copenhagen, she has covered the European food scene extensively and is the author of 'The Sorcerer's Apprentices: A Season in the Kitchen of Ferran Adrià's elBulli'. Abend holds a PhD in history from Harvard University and is currently working on a new book about gastronomy in the 21st century.
